LDPE stands for high-pressure low-density polyethylene. A film made from such granules resembles wax on touch, stretches easily, has a large number of transfer bonds, and melts at a relatively low temperature (103-110°C).
Nowadays, it is used for wrapping foodstuffs and non-food goods as well as for making packaging. Extra-thick LDPE film is used to wrap construction materials such as bricks and blocks. In agriculture, LDPE film has become particularly popular due to its blocking water and vapor.
